The Daemons
The daemons are worshipped by evil creatures throughout Jade but Isstar is prevalent on the Southern Continent.
Visualized as a Storm Giant. Captain of the Ship that brought the Daemons across Chaos into Jade. He is thought to be responsible for the storms and sea monsters that ravage the Sea of Storms. He is worshipped by many evil sea-faring creatures and by others with an affinity for storms and/or giants.
May assume any shape. Only appears in dreams. He feeds on the fear of the sleeping. He influences the world through dreams (prophecies and visions). He has little physical power and very few servants. His aims are unknown and no race has chosen to make him their patron.
Worshipped by all Serpent-folk and by some orc and human tribes in the jungles of Kesh. He is linked to poison and to illusions. He has made many deals with his worshippers in his attempts to gain more and more influence in Jade. Somewhere in all this he seems to have granted too much power to the Saurians whose rulers are now themselves worshipped as divine by the Empire of Sudra. It is rumoured that Isstar himself is now little more than a semi-intelligent beast held captive by the Saurians.
Queen of Spiders. (Based on AD&D’s LOLTH. It is thought that she was once a hand-maiden of Lolth before becoming one of the exiles who ended-up on Jade). A vast spider, worshipped by Goblins and the few Dark Elves left in Jade. She was once more powerful and had vast armies of Goblins and Dark Elves at her command. There was a Hundred Year war in the North-lands (The Web War) in which an alliance of Men, Elves and Dwarves finally triumphed. Arachne’s power has been much reduced since then.
The White Witch. Ice Lady of the Fimbulwinter.
Lillith is a powerful sorceress whose worshippers control all the lands north of the White Mountains (a land of Ice & Snow). There are Snow Orcs and Snow Ogres as well as Winter Wolves and other such creatures. Lillith’s ambition seems to be to plunge the world into Fimbulwinter (a kind of Ice Age) for which she seems to need to have military control over most of the Northern Continent. She has tried before but was driven back beyond the mountains. Her servants recently (13 years ago) expanded south again and succeeded in conquering Ustergard. Her champion, the anti-paladin Xador, managed to unite several different factions and re-populate Shar Gazoth the ancient underground City of Agonies.
