The standard AD&D Cleric and Druid are only included for comparison.
- There are no Animate Dead Spells for Clerics of the Three Gods or for Druids. However, Mortus Priests get these three additional spells
- Skeletal Messenger (2nd Level) - Similar to Messenger but requires a small animal to be killed, its skeleton cleaned and its wing bones (if any) to be covered with thin leather. A drop of blood from the intended target of the message is also required.
- Skeletal Warhorse (3rd Level) - A fully-trained Warhorse, in the prime of life, is killed and animated as a skeleton. The creature will have maximum hit points, be fully trained & responsive to its rider as it was during life. A heavy warhorse skeleton will be as fast as a Medium Warhorse and a Medium Warhorse Skeleton will be as fast as a Light Warhorse. A Light Warhorse Skeleton will be faster than any normal horse. Such horses will of course be tireless and immune to mind-affecting spells.
- Skeletal Warriors (3rd Level) - D3 + (1 per level over 5th) Skeletal Warriors, 5 Hit Dice, Clad in Chain mail, wielding Mace and Shield are conjured. The creatures will remain for upto an hour per level of the caster. These are the bodies of volunteers, sealed in tombs beneath the Great Cathedral of Mortus in Tor Meliath. Priests of Mortus should treat them with respect.
- Mortus Priests' special ability is that they can destroy Undead on a successful Turn. (Undead Save vs Spells)
- Oban Priests' (Daughters of Mercy) special ability is Healing Skill and Spells always restore maximum hit points.
- Oban Priests (Fathers) have no special ability.
- Mithras Priests have no special ability (except that they are Split Class Priest/Paladins)
- Druids have no power to Turn or Control Undead
- Glyphs can be used to store other spells cast immediately after the Glyph. Such spells will activate with some degree of divine guidance. Glyphs used in this way are often cast onto ribbons which activate when snapped. Glyphs usually affect the person who activates them but a ribbon with Heal cast onto it could be looped around an unconscious person's neck and then pulled to cure them.
- Any Spells with permanent duration, or spells cast into Glyphs etc. are subject to the following limits :-
- If the caster can normally memorize only 2 third level spells then he/she can only create 2 castings of any single spell (eg. 2 Continual Lights, 2 Glyphs).
- Subsequent Castings Fail until the earlier spells are released
- Because of this limit, priests should be wary of giving away "gifts" of continual light coins etc. Churches will tend to have small collections of minor glyphs and items left by deceased priests.
