JADE - TALONS - NPC Class

Specialist Assassins in the service of the Divine Saurian Emperor. Talons may be found in the North, preparing for the Invasion. They are also sent to act as servants to Wizards of the Dark Circle who agree to aid the Saurian Emperor. In order to maintain their incredible skills, Talons must exercise/meditate for a few hours every day and must follow a healthy diet.

Combat Skills

Specialist MISSILE WEAPON (usually as a way to deliver poison)

If you are using the JADE Unarmed Combat Rules, Talons get a bonus of 5% per level to all activities.

No non-proficiency penalty. Talons are trained with every conceivable weapon.

Other Skills

• Acrobatic proficiencies - Tumbling, Tightrope Walking, Contortionist
• Disguise, Herbalism, Sign-Language, Running, Endurance, Leaping
• All Thief Skills as same level thief (including Backstab)
• Intimidation - Each round of impressive Kung Fu moves - roll THAC0. If succeed opponents get -1 cummulative on to Hit and Damage
• When not wearing Armour and not surprised, AC bonus = Level/2 round down
• By preparation & concentration for x rounds, a single punch/kick can be delivered with enhanced effects (effective strength is increased x lines of the Strength table) max x = level/2 round down. This skill is particularly useful for knocking down doors and making an impressive entrance.

Talons are usually human but can be Saurian, Lizard-men, Orcs, Half-Orcs or Ogres

Talons get only two proficiency slots in addition to all they are taught as Talons. The skill(s) may be chosen from any of the skill tables. If both slots are used the Talon may choose to be SPECIALISED in another Weapon.
